Lorraine Emerick aka Speranza Serevi (SL), is the Manager of Operations & Insurance Services at Marshall & Sterling - one of the largest independently owned agency in the USA.  Under her 17 year tenure, the profit center has shown continuous growth with one of the highest revenue and profitability margins of Marshall & Sterling's offices in New York State.  She is also a PhD candidate (Instructional Technology/Virtual Worlds) at the University of New York at Albany. Lorraine's focus is on blending her extensive insurance background with virtual world platforms to facilitate training and education in business.

Lorraine is a committee member for the Professional Insurance Agents Association's Business Issues, Programs and Services, board member for the Greene County Chamber of Commerce, member of the Association of Virtual Worlds Advisory Board, member of the Association of Virtual Worlds Legal Committee, as well as an active fundraiser for The Brain Tumor Society and the Columbia-Greene Humane Society. Lorraine also conducts faculty and student seminars at local community colleges and is a past presenter at the Gaming in Education symposium with respect to virtual learning environments.
